Anonymous - first of all, thanks for reading. I appreciate you taking the time to follow my blog and comment. You're right about my being conservative. I pride myself on being principled and sticking to one set of values. I realize that most of my posts are against something that our current president is advocating. That doesn't meant, however, that I won't denounce a conservative or a Republican if I disagree with something. I started this blog in April, so my readers have only seen a very narrow set of thoughts based on a few months under one president. If I had started it before this time last year you had better believe that I would have been all over Bush and the Republicans for pushing the bank bailout. My goal is to present the facts and a balanced argument on the issues. The facts come first, and it just so happens that they fall in line with conservative principles more often than liberal ones.

I would also like to point out that not all of my posts are reactionary, and I do not define all points by stating what I am against. Funny you mention the health care debate as an example, because you'll see here that I do exactly what you are calling for: http://www.realhonestthinking.com/2009/06/health-care-reform-part-1.html. It's not partisan. It's not political. It's a well researched assessment of the system and a proposal of well researched solutions.

Regarding the Demi Moore video, I never said that the president paid for it, nor did I insinuate that the president thinks that we should serve him. If I did think that then my statement would have been "where does THE PRESIDENT get the idea that we are supposed to serve him?" I also never hinted that the president is responsible for any part of the video or what is being said about him. I didn't really involve Obama at all in the post. My focus was on the people who think we should serve him. They're wrong.

Aah, Anonymous, you are fooling yourself. I hope you will open your eyes to what this administration is doing to our republic before it is too late for you to take a stand.

Do you not realize that many Germans stuck their heads in the ground as their neighbors were being escorted to camp? By the time they became wise to how deep a hole they were in, the individual had almost no power and was most likely too fearful to speak up.

I do not compare Obama to these other tyrants out of hate, if anything, I admire his teams ability to pull such a major scam. If only they would use their marketing skills to promote the retraction of our federal government back to within its Constitutional authority.

Oh, and Anonymous, I suppose you missed the school children singing praises to Obama last year? Really, tell us the truth, you're an Obama Czar, right?

so saying "Where does anyone get the idea that we are supposed to serve the President?" is making a "dishonest" jump.

i certainly hope any president now or in the future does not have to become responsible for what celebrities say about him.

I don't disagree with a lot of the points you make on this blog (for instance this video is quite absurd), but since nearly every single one of your points is conservative in nature or stays completly within the conservative platform or is against the president's policies, shouldn't the blog be called "honest conservative thought" because the real honest talk would be able to understand that neither side has it figured out and they both make good points. and thus posts would honestly show that. almost every post is against something without every really being for something. if you define your point by what your against, it is not a very solid ground. and i think if you start defining your point, you may be able to have honest talk and say for instance "health care needs reform" and i don't like the president's plan because x and i like this better because y. as opposeed to this is absurd, have a nice day.

Every post is a well said conservative platform. which only makes it "real" to those who are conservatives. Start approaching these issues with the idea that you don't have it all figured out (and i certianly don't) and i will start calling it real honest thinking. until then you are going to have commentors that compare the president to Stalin and Hitler which is neither real nor honest but just hate driven.

Well said, Murph. Clearly, you are an honest thinker and honesty, clearly, is not politically correct.

Last year, it was no secret that Mr. Obama was the most liberal Senator with the most extreme designs for our nation. Any honest thinker knew what was coming. Recall his Democratic convention acceptance speech - he was not only being nominated, he was being anointed as Messiah. Never did I imagine that such a thing would come to pass in the United States.

How long before visitors to the White House have to bow before Mr. Emperor and kiss his signet ring?

Birds of a feather? Napoleon, Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Castro, Hugo Chavez, Obama.

Questions we need to continue to ask ourselves as citizens are: 1) "What can we do when the government brazenly steps out of its Constitutional boundaries and actually begins to "fundamentally transform the country" to become something other than a democratic republic?" 2) "At what point do we act?"

1) some answers that are in use: vote politician out of office, attend town meetings to voice opposition, attend tea parties to protest government policy. All are exercising our rights, but there is also another: boycott. This will take coordination and mass participation, but when our tax dollars are being grossly and blatantly used for funding policies that threaten our freedom and security, the need to deny that funding is justified. This is a very strong, but peaceful action the citizenry can use to regain control OUR government. 2) At what point do we act?

I'd be interested to learn your view on this Murph!
